Yeh Rishta Oct 8: Abhira’s Secret and a New Taxi Lead

October 8’s episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai pushed two tracks forward at once: Abhira’s attempt to shield Armaan from the truth and Maira’s quiet bond with Kabir. What should have been a simple family search quickly became a story of missed calls and half-truths.

The episode matters because it moves the current marriage condition forward. Maira and Kabir’s 30-day stay is the central obstacle, and every family conversation now circles back to it. Abhira is caught between protecting Armaan and hiding Maira’s choice, which makes the search harder than it needs to be.

Abhira’s protective lie

Sanjay tells Abhira that the whole city is talking about Maira and Kabir. Manisha adds that people are taunting them even at the temple, and Krish accuses Abhira of creating drama at the toll plaza office.

Instead of opening up, Abhira tells Armaan that Maira is in Jodhpur. Armaan immediately wants to bring Maira back, but Abhira asks him to rest. When he confronts her later, she admits she did not want to add to his stress.

Maira and Kabir’s quiet connection

Kabir tells Maira he has managed to get an unpaid internship. Maira shares that she missed her entrance exam. They both remember they cannot get married without completing their 30-day stay together, so they decide to keep busy with their own work.

Their ice-cream outing gives them a brief break. Kabir opens up about the Damanis, but he avoids the family question and focuses on the present. Maira then sees a video of Abhira defending her, gets emotional and tries to call her—but Abhira misses the call.

Family pressure and a fresh lead

Nandani is desperate for news about Kabir. Vasu says Kabir has not contacted him, and Samar grabs Vasu by the collar before Nandani steps in. She tells Raghav that he must bring Kabir back, or she will leave the house. Later, Vasu gets a call from Kabir and tells him that Raghav and Nandani are fighting and crying for him, which leaves Kabir emotional.

The biggest practical development comes when the Poddars learn that Maira’s taxi has been located. That gives Armaan and Abhira a concrete lead at last.

• Abhira hides Maira’s real location and says she is in Jodhpur.
• Maira and Kabir bond over ice cream after sharing their problems.
• The Poddars trace the taxi Maira boarded, reopening the search.

For viewers, the episode sets up two near-misses: Maira’s unanswered call to Abhira and Armaan’s search without the full truth. The taxi lead may pull the family closer, but the emotional distance already feels wider.
