Bigg Boss 20: Qazi, Uditi, Yung DSA and More Already Have Careers

From Fame Gurukul and Netflix's Jaane Jaan to Gully Gang Records, Bigg Boss 20's housemates enter with careers already underway.

Bigg Boss 20 Contestants Arrive With Careers Already Built

Bigg Boss 20 may introduce a fresh batch of faces to the national audience, but several of this season’s contestants are not starting from zero. Their pre-show careers span early reality TV, modelling, Punjabi entertainment, independent hip-hop, films and even corporate jobs.

That makes the season a little different. Viewers will not just be learning new names; they will be rediscovering people who have already had sharp turns, long pauses and sudden leaps before entering the house.

Qazi Touqeer: a reality-TV winner two decades ago

Qazi Touqeer knows what public voting can do. He became a familiar name in 2005 on Fame Gurukul, a singing reality show from the era when television made overnight stars before social media took over. He won the show alongside Ruprekha Banerjee and carried strong viewer support through its run.

After Fame Gurukul, Qazi stayed with music, stage shows and screen appearances, including the Afghan Jalebi music video. For him, Bigg Boss 20 is less of a debut and more of a return to the format that once changed his career.

Uditi Singh went from modelling to Netflix

Uditi Singh’s entry point was modelling, followed by music videos. Her music-video debut came with Himesh Reshammiya’s Suroor in 2021, which put her before a wider audience and eventually led to acting roles.

She appeared in Netflix’s Jaane Jaan as the younger version of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character, Maya D’Souza. Uditi has also been seen in Jassi Weds Jassi, another step in her shift from modelling assignments to performance.

Yung DSA had a BPO job before the beats

Born Harsh Vijay Machare, Yung DSA’s route to Bigg Boss 20 is among the more unconventional. Before he was known in India’s independent hip-hop scene, he worked in a BPO. His music later pulled from his Pune upbringing, desi hip-hop, trap and Marathi influences.

His project YEDA YUNG arrived through Divine’s Gully Gang Records and helped establish his identity as an independent rapper. For viewers meeting him on the show, the rapper persona comes with a backstory grounded in ordinary work and local music culture.

Love Gill and Aman Gandhi bring their own head starts

Love Gill’s career began in Punjab’s entertainment industry with modelling and music videos. Her appearance in Karan Aujla’s Facts in 2019 is an early credit, and she went on to work in Tu Patang Main Dor and Punjabi films such as Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Pareshaan, Haterz, Kulche Chole and Vekhi Ja Chhedi Na.

Aman Gandhi took yet another route. After an MBA, he worked in the corporate sector with a global automobile company while training as an actor on weekends. He later moved to Mumbai and appeared in shows including D4 – Get Up and Dance, Naagin 3, Kundali Bhagya, Parineetii and Bhagya Lakshmi.

What this means for the season

When contestants walk in with built-in fan bases, early voting can shift quickly. Familiar faces may get an initial advantage, while lesser-known contestants rely on the house to earn attention. For the audience, these backstories offer a useful shortcut: one look at a contestant’s previous work often explains the confidence, the performance style or the career pressure behind their game.

Before the season gathers pace, revisiting the music, films and shows these housemates have done is a practical way to understand who is entering the house.
