A quick recap of the storm so far

Mitti De Baway is set in 1990s Punjab and centres on Iqbal Chanana, called Baala, and Bilqees Bano, called Billo. Wahaj Ali and Mahira Khan lead the cast in their first on-screen pairing, and the show also marks Mahira’s return to the small screen after three years. The cast includes Samiya Mumtaz, Noor Ul Hassan, Faryal Mehmood, Ahmed Randhawa, Amar Khan, Hina Afridi, Fazal Hussain and Aena Khan, with Syed Wajahat Hussain directing.

The story has moved from love to betrayal to revenge. Bilqees humiliated Baala after they crossed paths 16 years later, and Baala responded by exposing her past to her in-laws. Bilqees then exposed Baala’s past in return. The fallout was severe: Baala’s brother Aslam and Bilqees’ sister-in-law Nousheen ran away and married, Bilqees’ husband Nazeer Shah killed the newlyweds, and Baala killed Nazeer Shah. Bilqees has now been disowned by her in-laws, and she is left burning with anger against Baala.

What to expect from episode 8

The new episode picks up with Baala being protected by Phajja after Nazeer Shah’s murder. Baala wants to go back to his family, but Phajja offers him a different path: turn into a goon to earn a living. That choice could change Baala’s world again.

Bilqees, meanwhile, is emotionally ruined after her divorce and Nazeer’s murder. She has decided to avenge her destruction, which leaves fans with the episode’s central question: will she come up with another plan to destroy Baala? For Indian viewers, the answer lands tonight at 10:30 PM IST on the free streaming options above.
