The Kapil Sharma Show Saturday episode had Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur promoting their upcoming film Jersey. Earlier, a promo of the episode was shared on social media. As expected, the 25th December show was quite entertaining.
Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor is seen poking fun at Kapil for his ‘obsession’ with Archana Puran Singh. Shahid is seen telling Kapil that an Archana resides in him. The actor then addresses Archana and jokes, “Aap inke andar na bas chuki hai aur ab phoot phoot kar bahaar nikal rahi hai.”
Additionally, Shahid says, “Yeh raat ko bhi aapki awaaz mein kuch baat karte honge.” The actor then imitates Kapil calling out to Archana’s husband Parmeet Sethi in her style with a loud ‘Parmeete!”, leaving everyone in splits.
Furthermore, cast members of The Kapil Sharma Show Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda mimick Dharmendra and Sunny Deol respectively. Krushna, as Dharmendra, gave Shahid tips on how to make a drink. “Aap bohot achche artist hai. Ek cheez main aapko batana chahunga. Glass mein baraf dala jata hai aur aise piya jata hai.”
Consequently, Kiku wondered why he was giving such basic instructions to Shahid. Krushna explained, “Tune Kabir Singh nahi dekhi kya? Baraf galat jagah pe daal rahe the woh.” Shahid made a goofy face halfway through the joke but cracked up afterward.
As regards the movie Jersey, Shahid Kapoor plays a former cricketer who returns to the game for the sake of his son. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Mrunal Thakur. The movie is directed by Gowtam Tinnauri. Jersey is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same name directed by Gowtam.
Earlier during an Instagram live session, Shahid had said “I watched Jersey before Kabir Singh. The time when I saw it, I was unhappy. I used to think about where my career would go, what I will do next. So, I could relate to the story of Jersey, which is about late success. It’s about a man who finds glory at a time when people retire,” said Shahid.
