Apsara premieres 21 October on Star Plus with divine sister clash
Star Plus is bringing back supernatural sister drama with Apsara, Mukta Dhond's new saga of two sisters and an ancient relic, from 21 October.

Star Plus is stepping back into supernatural prime-time with Apsara, a fantasy saga that turns two sisters, an ancient relic, and a power struggle into appointment viewing. The show premieres on 21 October at 10:30 PM, a late-evening slot the channel tends to give fiction it wants viewers to plan their nights around.
The name attached matters. Mukta Dhond, the producer known for supernatural hit Divya Drishti, is behind Apsara. That earlier show built its following on a familiar design—two close characters standing on opposite sides of a mystical conflict—and Apsara carries that same shape into a new story.
Who is who in Apsara
The central split is simple to follow, which is part of the appeal for a daily fantasy.
- Sunehri, played by Samiksha Jaiswal, is the radiant sister. Blessed with the grace of celestial apsaras, she can bend light, heal others, and protect sacred truths.
- Dhara, played by Anushka Merchande, comes from the darker side of the same mythic world. She commands shadow and illusion, and she believes power belongs to those who take it.
The clash at the centre
The two are tied by blood but pushed toward different fates. They grow up not knowing how deeply they are connected. Their meeting point arrives when a relic from the Samudra Manthan resurfaces, and the threat is clear: if dark forces claim it first, chaos could follow.
For the audience, that is the hook. The show is not just a powers-and-relics spectacle; its engine is a family bond the characters themselves do not yet understand. When that truth lands, it should arrive with the emotional weight Indian television viewers expect from a nightly saga.
Why the Divya Drishti link matters
Supernatural sister stories have a built-in fanbase. Divya Drishti worked because the mythology never fully drowned out the relationship at its core. Apsara is positioned the same way, and Star Plus is giving it a strong night slot rather than a quieter test run. The message is simple: the channel is treating this as a show to notice.
What to watch in the first weeks is how quickly the sisters move from unknowing separation into open conflict. If the emotional hook lands early, Apsara has a genuine chance to become the next daily fantasy favourite. If the relic mythology dominates too early, viewers may need longer to invest. Either way, the Divya Drishti lineage is reason enough to sample the premiere.
Set the reminder. The divine sister clash begins 21 October at 10:30 PM on Star Plus.
