Indian Idol 12 has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late. The show started well and people loved the talent on the show. However, the going has been tough for the season. Shooting during the pandemic has been not an easy task and in between the host of the show Aditya Narayan had even tested positive.
The TRP too has been dwinding after the time slot was shifted. It has been accused that the makers have been fabricating stories to juice up the ratings of the show.
Howeever, the same has not yeilded any results.
What’s more is that this Sunday, Indian Idol 12 aired an episode that was an ode to Kishore Kumar. The Kishore Kumar special had some of the best songs of the singer sung by the contestants and the judges. It was aimed at giving a memorable experience to the viewers.
Since the shoots are not being allowed in Maharashtra, the makers of Indian Idol are shooting in Daman. During this shoot, Anu Malik and Manoj Muntashir have come in as one of the judges to replace Vishal Dadlani.
In the earlier episodes Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya too gave the show a miss as the makers wanted them to stick to a strict bio bubble. However, they returned in this episode which aslo features Amit Kumar, son of legenary singer Kishore Kumar. This episode features 100 greatest hits of Kishore Kumar.
Soon after the episode aired, it was trending on Twitter and for all the wrong reasons. People were unhappy with the way the singing of Anu Malik, Neha and Himesh and felt they were destroying the songs. Here are some of the tweets to show how frustrated they felt.

While the judges were not able to win the heart of the audiences, people were still rooting for Pawandeep Bisht and Arunita Kanjilal. What did you think of tonight’s episode?
