Kritika Kamra Returns to X, Says Instagram Is Censoring Her

Kritika Kamra is back on X, saying Instagram has censored her. She salutes rights defenders, answers trolls, and has two projects lined up.

Kritika Kamra Says Instagram Is Censoring Her

Kritika Kamra is back on X, and she has made her reason clear. The actor says Instagram has been censoring her, so she returned to the platform formerly known as Twitter to share views she believes deserve a wider audience.

She says she is back to amplify ‘truthful voices’

In a post announcing her return, Kritika said she wanted to use X to boost voices she trusts. She also thanked people who are campaigning for citizens’ rights and the Constitution.

Back to this hellhole of a platform to amplify truthful voices because Instagram is censoring me and because I feel HOPE again. We, the people, are in this together. To everyone fighting the good fight for our rights and our Constitution, I salute you and I’m deeply grateful,

she wrote.

The response was split. Some followers welcomed her back; others asked for more detail about the censorship claim. Kritika then addressed the users who tried to make light of her announcement.

‘I’m not new here’: she answers the trolls

When users mocked the comeback, the actor replied in the same direct tone. She said some people were simply trying to farm engagement with personal insults.

All the self-proclaimed gyaanis and gyaanus trying to engagement farm with their cute little insults, sit down. I’m not new here,

she wrote.

It is a reminder that she has spent years in the public eye, from television to web series. She knows how online pile-ons work, and she is not treating this return as a fragile moment.

That confidence is not new. In an earlier interview with News18, Kritika said she does not try to reshape herself just because some people online disapprove. She added that the love on her pages easily outweighs the negativity, and that she cannot monitor herself for her views or behaviour around the clock.

I’m not bothered by it, to be honest. Overwhelmingly, there is more love than negativity, at least on my pages. It’s not like I can monitor myself for my views or my behaviour. I don’t know if I can alter myself for perception. I am who I am,

she said.

What this means for her fans

For TV and web viewers, the post matters for two reasons. It brings Kritika back to a platform where she can talk directly with fans, and it arrives while she is preparing two projects. The return also sets up a direct line between Kritika and the fan conversations around her shows.

Next on her slate: Dumbbell and Matka King 2

Kritika is set to headline Dumbbell, an upcoming drama directed by debutant Pushaan Mukherjee. The director has writing credits on the Kunal Kemmu-starrer Abhay, and shooting for the film was earlier reported to begin in June.

She is also returning as Gulrukh in Matka King 2, a series in which she plays a wealthy South Bombay woman whose association with Brij Bhatti, played by Vijay Varma, pulls her into the world of matka gambling.

  • Dumbbell: A drama headlined by Kritika, directed by Pushaan Mukherjee; the plot is still under wraps.
  • Matka King 2: Kritika returns as Gulrukh, with more agency and a clearer understanding of what she wants this season.

Speaking to Mid-Day about the role, Kritika said she is drawn to women who are layered and do not fit neatly into a box. She sees vulnerability, ambition, intelligence and strength in Gulrukh. A release date for Matka King 2 has not been announced yet.

Her return, then, is not just a social media update. It is a statement about where she wants to speak, and for whom she wants to speak.
