Bigg Boss Malayalam 8: Mohanlal gifts 10-13 trophy pieces

Mohanlal turns Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 into a groupism class, gifting each housemate a piece of the trophy after the Mittai Pattanam task.

Mohanlal gifts 10-13 pieces of the Bigg Boss trophy

Bigg Boss Malayalam 8’s weekend episode is set to be part task review and part groupism class. An earlier teaser had already shown host Mohanlal questioning the decision to bring back an evicted contestant. The latest promo goes further: he is not ignoring how the last weekly task actually played out — and he uses the trophy itself to make the point.

The “gift” that was really a warning

In the teaser, Mohanlal hands every contestant a piece of the Bigg Boss trophy. His sarcastic line is hard to miss: “We could break the cup into 10–13 pieces, and you can all take one.” It is a direct comment on the group game that took over the Mittai Pattanam task.

The visual lands because it takes the season’s biggest prize and breaks it into a warning: if everyone keeps playing as a team in an individual game, nobody truly owns the win.

Rahul Easwar and Shijin face questions

Rahul Easwar is the first to be questioned. He says he was not part of any group, but Mridhula immediately challenges that and points to what she calls double standards. Mohanlal then calls him “Care ettan” and criticises him for playing on everyone’s behalf and damaging their chances. Shijin also gets pulled up over his gameplay in the same teaser.

What happened in Mittai Pattanam

Last week’s task was announced as an individual challenge. Contestants earned toffees carrying points through different routes, and the highest scorer was promised a special reward:

  • a two-week nomination-free pass, or
  • the chance to bring one evicted contestant back.

Even then, most housemates played in groups. Rahul, Noby, Tahsi and Azif formed one team, while Shijin and Komban joined forces. Wildcard entrant Vipin was the exception shown in the promo.

Rahul eventually emerged as the winner and chose to bring evicted contestant Rakesh Babu back into the house.

Why the weekend episode matters

For viewers, the promo signals a longer conversation about gameplay. Groupism is not new to Bigg Boss, but having the host name it on stage raises the stakes. The trophy-piece moment turns a strategy debate into a visual, and it puts every housemate on notice before the next round of nominations.

The episode will show whether Rahul’s explanation holds, how Shijin responds, and whether the rest of the house accepts that an individual task can still carry group consequences.
