Rakhi Vijan discussed her role as Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in a recent interview.
Rakhi Vijan is best recognised for her role as Sweety Mathur in the 1995 film ‘Hum Paanch.’ It was a comedy event, and the crowd adored her role because it was so relatable to them. Through the serial, the show and all of the performers gained a lot of notoriety and renown. Rakhi discussed her role as Dayaben in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ in a recent interview with ETimes.
Rakhi has denied rumours that she will portray Dayaben’s character in a recent Instagram post, stating that she is not playing the character and that she has not been approached by the producers. She said, ‘hello every1..this news is a rumor..which shocks me..I haven’t been approached by the producers or the channel..’. When asked about the show, Rakhi stated, “Tell me one person who hasn’t. It’s as iconic as ‘Hum Paanch’ which I did in my younger days.”
When asked if she would find portraying Dayaben tough, she responded that humour comes naturally to her, but that it would be demanding but not difficult. She’ll also have to master the character’s Gujju dialect. She went on to say that they are performers who must portray various roles.
When asked if she wanted to play the character in her own unique style, the Hum Paanch actor was reported as stating, “I will have to take a lot of nuances from her style and include mine. I will have to do a good merger. If I do it entirely my way, it might be difficult for the audiences to relate to it.”
The Dekh Bhai Dekh actress previously stated that she took a sabbatical from performing owing to her “marriage breakup” in one of her prior interviews.
