Yesha Harsora: Daily TV Teaches You to Expect the Unexpected

Yesha Harsora, who plays Tapasya in Zee TV's Jagadhatri, opens up about acting on instinct, reading scenes fast, and keeping fan feedback in its place.

Yesha Harsora: Daily TV Teaches You to Expect the Unexpected

For Yesha Harsora, who plays Tapasya in Zee TV and Rahul Kumar Tewary’s Jagadhatri, daily television is less about perfect preparation and more about quick, honest reaction. In a chat with IWMBuzz, she said the format gives actors very little time to sit with a scene before the cameras roll.

That is a side of the genre viewers rarely see. A new track can land with almost no notice, and the actor has to make sense of it on the spot.

Why she reads the emotion, not the performance

Harsora’s approach is to strip the scene back to its core. Instead of overthinking how she should perform, she looks at what has just happened to the character in the story.

“I read the scene, understand what has happened to the character before that moment, and then I try to put myself in that situation,” she said.

That relies on knowing Tapasya’s whole journey. If the backstory is clear in her head, the actor argues, a genuine response follows even when the script lands late. She told IWMBuzz, “Television really teaches you to be prepared for the unexpected.”

The actor-character line

Harsora also keeps a clear boundary between herself and Tapasya. She accepts that some of her own body language, emotions and experience will bleed into the role, and she does not see that as a problem. But she says she pulls back when she feels she is answering as Yesha rather than as Tapasya.

For viewers, that boundary is part of what makes a long-running character believable. When an actor disappears into the role, small reactions start to feel like the character’s rather than the performer’s.

What she does with audience feedback

Social media has made audience response immediate, and Harsora says she reads it with one eye open for detail. Fans have caught very small acting choices even she had not consciously registered. She values those observations, but she does not let comments change every creative decision.

Here is the balance she described:

  • Watch the emotion first: identify what the character is feeling before worrying about the performance.
  • Trust the character’s history: past scenes are the script for how to respond now.
  • Take feedback without chasing it: notice what viewers catch, but stay true to what the role needs.

Why this matters for fans of Jagadhatri

The interview is a useful lens for watching the show. Big dramatic scenes are easy to judge, but Harsora points to smaller moments as the ones that often say more about Tapasya. Her goal is to make those beats feel real, even when they are easy to miss.

For daily soap viewers, that is a reminder that the pause, the glance, the delayed reaction: those are choices actors make under enormous time pressure.
